To promote the balanced development of the bilateral trade and to push forward the two countries’ economic cooperation and trade in an all-round way, China’s economic and trade Mission, led by Mr. Wang Chao, Assistant Minister of China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), visited Pakistan from July 18 to 19.
During the visit, Assistant Minister Wang Chao had meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister Aziz, Minister of Commerce Humayun, Exchanging views regarding the issues on bilateral economic and trade relationship. The two sides reached consensus on a series of matters, and concluded Handling-over Certificates regarding donation of USD400,000 for repatriation of Afghan refugees and USD200,000 for flood relief, along with Letters of Exchange on Digital Seismic Network. Apart from the aforesaid, Assistant Minister Wang witnessed the conclusion of Joint Venture Agreement between and Company Statute of China Development Bank and Ministry of Finance and Revenue of Pakistan.
During the visit, the Chinese Entrepreneurs signed contracts and agreements valued at USD 300 million with the Pakistani side, which symbolized the great importance attached and efforts made by the Chinese side to alleviate the bilateral trade imbalance. The successful visit of the Assistant Minister Wang to Pakistan contributed much to the promotion of the bilateral economic and trade relationship between the two countries.
