ISLAMABAD, Apr 25 (APP): Pakistan Railways would import another 75 locomotives from China to improve efficiency of the institution which suffered net losses of Rs 27 billion during the last three years.
Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said that out of 75 coaches, the company would supply 25 completely built locomotives while remaining 50 will be assembled at Risalpur locomotive factory.
The minister said an agreement to this effect has already been signed.
Bilour said that railways suffered a net loss of over Rs 27 billion from 2005 to 2007, however efforts are underway to overcome the losses by improving its services and control leakages.
