President Zardari arrives in China to represent Pakistan at Boao Forum

SANYA, April 17 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari arrived here Friday to represent Pakistan at the 8th annual Boao Forum for Asia and discuss with world leaders challenges that the continent was currently facing in the light of global financial crisis. The President was received by Pakistan’s ambassador to China Masood Khan and China’s ambassador to Pakistan Luo Zhaohui at the local airport.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sumsam Bukhari and Advisor to Prime Minister on Water Resources Kamal Majidullah, who are aleady in Boao to attend the BFA, later also warmly received the President.

The President arrived here direct from Tokyo after chairing a meeting of Friends of Democratic Pakistan and a Donors Conference hosted by Japan to help the country confront economic challenges, particularly in the backdrop of war against extremism and terrorism.

President Zardari will meet Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao soon after his arrival and exchange views on bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of common interests. It will be the second meeting between the two leaders in six months since President Zardari assumed his office.
