Chinese follow-up mission for Agriculture Cooperation visits PARC

ISLAMABAD, Apr 22 (APP): Chinese follow-up mission headed by Zhang Qiquan called on the Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research council (PARC) Dr.Zafar Altaf and discussed areas of cooperation for development of agriculture sector in Pakistan This is the follow up of the Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) signed recently during visit of the President, Asif Ali Zardari to China.

Dr. Zafar Altaf said that Pakistan will provide reliable data to Chinese experts to bring about radical changes in the field of agriculture.

Dr. Zafar said that scientists should share experience and implement the MOUs signed between the two countries.

He said that “we need devotion for implementation of projects”.

Dr. Zafar Altaf emphasized the need for realisation of ideas into action that will help to get positive results.

He said that “we are very serious about the projects and we need results in a very short time”.

Chinese experts are of the view that within the next few years, Pakistan agriculture will be tranformed into high tech agriculture.

There is a need of high tech agriculture in Pakistan, he added.

They said Pakistan has good environment for agriculture production.

“We will work together and benefit from each other experiences. Pakistan has trained manpower in term of agriculture development”.

They said “We feel pleasure to transfer technology of Pakistan. We need environment, water, soil, seed variety with character and other information to start the project actively”.

Chinese delegation said that in 1958 China changed the Ghobi desert into productive farms and all deserts can be converted into productive farm lands.

Chinese delegation said that they will devise a number of agricultural machines according to the environment of Pakistan to achieve hi tech agriculture status.
